I decided to release my game Stalks Stalks Stalks on Steam! It was previously released on itcho.io, and I used steamworks for multiplayer by abusing Valve’s test project app Space Wars. A couple weeks ago, though, I decided to pay the $100 to release the game on Steam so it has its own app id! (I may have been a little intoxicated at the time…)
I would like to extend a big thank you to In Principle Games for their video on how to get your game build released on Steam. The Steam SDK documentation was a little confusing to me, but In Principal Games’ youtube video on how to prepare and release the game on Steam was really easy to follow along. Make sure to check out their games!
Anyway, Stalks Stalks Stalks will be released on Steam on December 20, 2021. You can find it on Steam here and add it to your wish list! It will be released for free. After the release happens, I am going to try and figure out how to add a pay-for DLC for something like $0.99 for the extremely unlikely event the game is a wild success and gamers want to support the game financially. Hopefully I can figure that out!
But, wow! Look at this! I’m a real (self-published) game developer now!
